The Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit hosted 960 global agribusinesses, growers, CPG and ingredient brands, entrepreneurs, investors and policy makers in Singapore to collaborate towards greater food security and sustainability. Featuring high-profile keynotes from Singapore's Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan, Sunny Verghese of Olam, and Uma Valeti, MD of UPSIDE Foods , the programme spanned #agtech and #carbonmarkets, #regenerativeagriculture practices, vertical farming and #aquaculture, sustainable nutrition and #futureproteins. Digital solutions, automation and the impact of artificial intelligence were recurring themes across the three days, as experts probed solutions to the challenge of producing nutritious and affordable foods, while reducing carbon throughout the supply chain. As the latest Asia Food Challenge report revealed the $125 billion investment needed to achieve 12% reduction in the region's agri-food emissions by 2030, the focus on investment at the summit was tangible. 240 investors joined to meet innovators and stakeholders across the value chain, gaining deep insights into the trends and opportunities across agri-food and climate tech. Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit reposted this
At last year’s Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit, a key component of Singapore International Agri-Food Week, and produced by our good friends at Team Rethink Events, a real rarity (we understand) occurred. Our CEO, Francisco M. Codoñer, PhD, Executive MBA, Executive MBA was one of a number of leading lights in our growing and emerging industry scheduled to host a roundtable discussion. What we were hugely and gratefully surprised about, was the turnout! 🙌🤣 What was intended a single round-table became a “long table” as more than twice the attendees anticipated showed up. And participants still had an illuminating conversation and intimate opportunity for food tech leaders to connect 🤝🙏 During a time when founders are having to sharpen their business models and the pressure is on (more than ever), we think senior leaders need to hear that there are multiple paths - and opportunities available - for them to innovate, create and deliver groundbreaking solutions to market. Such as the value proposition presented by Team ScaleUp Bio, backed by two truly blue chip giants, global nutrition leader ADM and Singapore’s own global investment giant Temasek (through its Nurasa unit). If you’re going to be in San Francisco 🌉🌁 this coming March 21-22 for Future Food-Tech, the world’s largest gathering of the world’s food tech industry, be sure to sign up for Francisco’s roundtable, “De-Risking Scale for Fermented Derived Foods”. Details and how to register - you do need to register - are available on the conference app and on the website. We’re incredibly excited to bring our ScaleUp Bio story from #singapore to the #usa and more importantly, to connect with you in person. For a 121 meeting, be sure to reach out to us now via DM here or pop us an email at hello@scaleupbio.com Special thanks to our good friends at Team Rethink Events! 👏 See you in #SanFrancisco! #collaboration #innovation #foodtech #foodtechnology #fermentation #businessmodel #businesscase #profitability #food #futureoffood

Great to see the summit and our speakers featured in this documentary on Cultivated Meat, produced by Rudaw Media Network.
I'm super excited to announce that my documentary-style program on cultivated meat is finally out. I'd like to express my gratitude to Rethink Events and its hard-working staff, particularly Sophie Ruane-Lewis, whose assistance was truly instrumental in making this video possible. The documentary explores lab-grown meat as a real meat alternative that addresses animal welfare and environmental concerns. From FDA approvals to taste tests, you’ll witness the journey of cultivated meat's rise, and discover its potential in reshaping our food systems and meeting the demands of a growing population. This program features taste-test reactions and industry leaders, including: Jeff Yew, Chef and Asia Product Manager GOOD Meat Caroline Wilschut Vice President for Commerce, Meatable Roee Nir, CEO, ForSeafoods Jo Anne Shatkin, President, Vireo Advisors Didier Toubia, CEO, Aleph Farms Jennifer Morton, The Good Food Institute APAC Jessie Yeh, and Sonalie Figueiras, editor-in-chief of Green Queen Media https://lnkd.in/daGRUhXi
